Stockholm Just Can’t Get Enough of Their Native Stars with Opening of New ABBA Restaurant and Dinner Theater
The 1970s Swedish disco stars just gave fans another reason to head to Stockholm with the opening of their new restaurant, Mama Mia! The Party.
The foursome Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Björn Ulvaeus, and Benny Andersson stepped out at Tyrol Restaurant (Lilla Allmänna Gränd 9; +46 10 708 70 00) in Grona Lund, Wednesday night for the opening of Mama Mia! The Party, the new home of the theater restaurant, in Stockholm.
“We’re here to party!” says Björn, avoiding reporters’ questions if ABBA will reunite for another performance.
The Mediterranean dinner and musical show is inspired by the hit Broadway show that has been a global phenomenon turned into a hit movie of the same name, “Mama Mia!,” will tell a different story than the one fans are familiar. Diners will “step right into a MAMMA MIA!-world,” where the musical and movie end and “the party begins,” according to the website, the actors and singers interacting with them and waiters throughout the evening.
Guests will feast on a Mediterranean buffet of their choice in a replica of Nikos Taverna to emulate being in Greece and enjoy a unique evening that won’t be like any other, boasts the website.
The show is already sold out through June. Tickets for fall 2016 go on sale January 27. Tickets range from $156.50 – $180 per person.
