Goodrich Embarks on her Fourth Season in the WNBA in 2016

Angel_250X225Guard Angel Goodrich has re-signed with the Seattle Storm, the team announced Wednesday.

“Angel is a playmaker who thrives on creating for and making her teammates better,” said Storm head coach Jenny Boucek. “There are not many pure point guards in the game anymore so to have a young, hungry player at this position is a real benefit.”

Goodrich averaged a career-high 3.0 assists per game for the Storm in 2015 as the backup point guard. Tallying her first double-double of her career on Sept. 13, 2015 with 12 points and 10 rebounds, Goodrich started in five of Seattle’s 23 games she played in. She owns career averages of 2.8 points, 2.2 assists and 1.3 rebounds per game.

Spending her first two WNBA seasons with the Tulsa Shock, Goodrich appeared in a combined 60 games, spanning 2013-14.

A native of Tahlequah, Okla., Goodrich was drafted 29th overall in the 2013 WNBA Draft by Tulsa, at the time making her the highest-drafted WNBA player of Native American descent. The Kansas graduate is the Jayhawks’ all-time leader in assists (771) and owns the Allen Fieldhouse record, male or female, for assists in a single-game with 16.
