After the Supreme Court’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage throughout the United States, ice cream company, Ben & Jerry’s, released a new name for their former Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavor, “I Dough, I Dough.”
“Ben & Jerry’s is proud of the Supreme Court’s landmark decision against discrimination as it boldly stands up for equality for same-sex couples everywhere,” Ben & Jerry’s CEO Jostein Solheim said in a statement. “And at Ben & Jerry’s, there’s only one way to celebrate: with a scoop of ‘I Dough, I Dough,’ Marriage equality never tasted so good!
Ben & Jerry’s was the first company in Vermont to offer full benefits to same-sex couples in 1989. In 2009, they renamed Chubby Hubby to “Hubby Hubby” to support the gay marriage legalization in Vermont.
The flavor is currently available at participating Ben & Jerry Scoop Shops around the nation and can also be purchased online through the Human Rights Campaign.
