Cara Delevingne is in love with her girlfriend and doesn’t care if you identify her has gay.
Delevingne told Vogue UK that she is completely in love with her singer-songwriter girlfriend Annie Clark (stage name St. Vincent).
“Before I didn’t know what love was – real love,” she said. “I didn’t understand the depth of it. I always used to think it was you against the world. Now I know the meaning of life is love. Whether that’s for yourself or for the world or your partner.”
Delevingne, a 24-year-old model and actress, first sparked the public’s interest in her sexuality when she was seen kissing Michelle Rodriguez, who later came out as bisexual.
“As a child, I used gay as a bad word, as in, ‘that’s so gay.’ All my friends did,” she said. “[Her parents] have been so, so supportive. I’m obviously in love, so if people want to say I’m gay, that’s great. But we’re all liquid – we change, we grow.”
Recently, actress Kristen Stewart also came out as being in love with her girlfriend, but refrained from using the word “gay” to describe her sexual orientation.
“We’ve broken up a couple of times and gotten back together, and this time I was like, ‘Finally, I can feel again,’” Stewart said in Elle UK. “When I was dating a guy I was hiding everything that I did because everything personal felt like it was immediately trivialized, so I didn’t like it. We were turned into these characters and placed into this ridiculous comic book, and I was like, ‘That’s mine. You’re making my relationship into something that it’s not.’ I didn’t like that. But then it changed when I started dating a girl. I was like, ‘Actually, to hide [implies] that I’m not down with or I’m ashamed of it, so I had to alter how I approached being in public. It opened my life up and I’m so much happier.”
Delevingne currently stars in Suicide Squad opposite Jared Leto. She formerly starred in Paper Town and Anna Karenina. The model-turned-actress just turned 24 with plenty of fanfare – from her celebrity friends.
