Cher was forced to cancel 29 shows due to doctors’ orders.
The 68-year-old singer was told she needs time to recover from an ongoing viral infection, but pledged to finish the tour next year.
“I’m SORRY I Couldn’t B the 1 to tell you about postponing my tour,” the star tweeted. “I Tried SO HARD 2b Strong enough, but my Will couldn’t force my Body time.”
Cher started her Dressed to Kill Tour in March. It was supposed to be her “Farewell” tour. After a break in July, she was supposed to start again on September 11 in New York, but had to postpone due to an “infection that affected her kidney function.”
According to her website, though Cher’s “progress has been consistent, Cher’s doctors have advised her to take more time to ensure and complete and total recovery.”
“I am totally devastated,” Cher said. “Nothing like this has ever happened to me. I cannot apologize enough to all the fans who bought tickets. I’m so proud of this show. It’s my best ever. I sincerely hope that we can come back again next year and finish what we started.”
