cos-miley-cyrus-cosmo-march-cover-mdnYes, she’s the girl who brought us the kitschy teen anthem “Party in the USA,” and yes, she’s sassier than ever on the cusp of the release of her latest album.

Twenty-year-old singer/actress Miley Cyrus appears on the cover of the March issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, provoking readers in a white blazer, with cleavage prominent, posing as if suggestively flashing the public.

Over the past year, Cyrus has enraptured audiences with several bold maneuvers: chopping off her long locks in favor of a jagged, peroxide blonde bob and becoming engaged to 23-year-old actor boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. The couple met on the set of their movie The Last Song.

She has also been busy recording an album, a self-proclaimed eclectic mix, with influences stemming out of hip-hop, country and metal.

In her Cosmopolitan interview, the cover girl opens about her aversion to dating, refers to Liam as her “hubby,” and declares her support for singer/songwriter Frank Ocean, who recently came out to audiences.

When asked about who she’s been listening to lately, Cyrus gushed about R&B singer Ocean. “[His] record is so good. And I like that he came out and admitted he was gay.”

To those who believe that sexual orientation doesn’t affect careers, Cyrus said, “If you don’t think it does, it [expletive] does, and he did not care. I think it’s going to make him even bigger.”

The pop star was equally complimentary of her boyfriend, oozing, “I’ll literally look at him and be like ‘you are hot, dear god.’”

She mentioned a time she had turned on the pool heater, causing the pool to steam, and her boyfriend took off his clothes and got in the pool.

Cyrus said, “’I’m gonna faint—the hottest guy of my life is in a steaming pool. This looks like a Playgirl shoot.’”

When asked about the competitiveness of the female music industry, Cyrus confessed, “If Katy sticks with being Katy, and Ke$ha is Ke$ha, and Rihanna is Rihanna, and I’m me, there’s room for everybody.”

The problem, Cyrus said, is when “people look at Gaga and say, ‘oh, that works; I’m going to be like that.’”

So what will her latest album deliver to fans? We’ll just have to wait to find out. The album, tentatively titled Sick, is due out early this year.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the spunky star’s Cosmopolitan interview:
