Famous as the home of country music and spicy chicken, Nashville is also home to many LGBTQ+ friendly dining experiences. When visiting Music City, be sure to book your stay at one of the many area IHG hotels that are close to these restaurants.

Enjoy a Proper Breakfast

Proper Bagel combines New York-style with Nashville flavors. Kettle-boiled bagels are made in-house daily in a stone-lined oven. Guests begin their day by ordering at the counter of this laid-back café. Breakfast options include bagel sandwiches or toasts, topped with homemade butters, jams, or cream cheeses. Lunch options include bagel sandwiches, salads, and smoked fish sandwiches. Try the New York LEO bagel with scrambled eggs, sautéed lox, onions, and scallion dill cream cheese. Dress is casual, and prices range from $7 to $15.

Lunch With the Hive

A modern American café with counter service, EiO & The Hive serves breakfast and lunch with an emphasis on providing nourishing locally sourced foods. The restaurant name reflects this philosophy — “EiO” means “Everything Is Organic” — while “The Hive” reflects the importance of bees and community. Breakfast options include a variety of dishes along with fresh-made juices and elixirs. Lunch options include sandwiches, soups, and salads. Enjoy a curry bowl with mixed quinoa or chickpeas, topped with sweet potato, bok choy, cauliflower, golden raisins, sprouts, and coconut curry. Dress is casual, and prices range from $11 to $25.

Choose Your Dining Style

Housed in a 19th-century hotel building, Merchants is a three-story restaurant that offers two restaurant floors with a third floor for private events. The first-floor bistro features black and white tile and serves soups, salads, and sandwiches for lunch or dinner. The bar features cocktails and locally brewed craft beers. Enjoy a black bean burger topped with goat cheese, cucumber, pickled red onion, and lemon garlic aioli, with a refreshing sixty-fifteen, a vodka-based cocktail with St-Germain, citrus, and sparkling wine. Bistro prices range from $7 to $28.

The second-floor dining room is upscale, with elegant hardwood floors and brick walls. Open only for dinner, this floor serves top-tier steaks, chops, chicken, and seafood, and features an expansive wine list and cocktails. Begin with iced shellfish, followed by chicken paillard topped with lemon caper butter sauce, and a Vesper martini. Dining room prices range from $20 to $88. Dress throughout is smart casual, and reservations are accepted for the first two floors.

Dine in a Historic Theater

Set in the former Melrose Theater, Sinema Restaurant + Bar provides an upscale dining experience with an eclectic menu in a trendy atmosphere. The menu includes locally sourced ingredients and is subject to change depending on seasonality. Entrees include steaks, seafood, and chicken. Start your meal with an artisanal charcuterie board, followed by scallops with spinach orzotto, black garlic brown butter, fried capers, and lemon mignonette. Remember to save room for dessert, such as the fromage blanc cheesecake, featuring poached rhubarb, pistachio Florentine, and honey mascarpone chantilly. Dress is smart casual, and prices range from $18 to $34. Reservations are accepted.

You are sure to enjoy the diverse culinary experiences when visiting the music capital of the world. Visit the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce for more information on these and other LGBTQ+ friendly restaurants.
