Beloved comedian, television icon and entertainment pioneer Ellen DeGeneres has announced her return to the stand-up comedy stage as she embarks on an exclusive, limited run of shows this August, presented by Live Nation. DeGeneres’ first tour in 15 years will visit three cities over eight nights, making stops in San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle. DeGeneres‘ stand-up sets at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall will be filmed for her debut Netflix original comedy special, coming later this year.
In an effort to ensure tickets get into the hands of fans rather than bots, Pre-sale tickets for the run of shows will be sold through Ticketmaster Verified Fan. Registration for Verified Fan will be available here beginning Thursday, June 14 at 10 a.m. PST through Sunday, June 17 at 10 p.m. PST. Pre-sale tickets for registered fans invited to shop will be available June 19 through June 21, while supplies last. Any remaining tickets will be made available for purchase by the general public beginning Friday, June 22 at 10 a.m. PST at LiveNation.com.

DeGeneres has made a home for herself in daytime with her hit syndicated talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which will return for its 16th season in September. The show has earned a total of 59 Daytime Emmy Awards, including 10 for Outstanding Talk Show/Entertainment crowning it the record holder in this category. In addition, DeGeneres has won 12 Teen Choice Awards and she is a 20-time People’s Choice Awards winner making her the most decorated individual in the 43-year history of the franchise.
In November 2016, President Obama awarded DeGeneres with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor. She was also presented with the 15th Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in October 2012.
DeGeneres received critical acclaim for hosting the highly rated Academy Awards in both 2007 and in 2014. She also received Primetime Emmy nominations for her HBO stand-up specials, The Beginning and Here and Now. Earlier this year, DeGeneres announced she will be returning to her stand-up comedy roots after a 15-year hiatus with a highly anticipated Netflix comedy special.
DeGeneres, an accomplished best-selling author, released her first home design book, “HOME,” in Fall 2015. Additionally, DeGeneres has had three best-selling books: “Seriously…I’m Kidding,” which includes a compilation of comedic observations, quotes and stories from her life, “The Funny Thing Is…,” and “My Point…And I Do Have One.”

DeGeneres’ production company, A Very Good Production (AVGP), is producing a wide range of television including NBC’s fan-favorite game show Ellen’s Game of Games, NBC’s hit series Little Big Shots, ABC’s comedy Splitting Up Together, and more. AVGP is also producing the film adaptation of Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase.
DeGeneres has been successful in her feature film work scoring unprecedented popular and critical response to her character, Dory, in the blockbuster animated feature Finding Nemo. The highly anticipated sequel, Finding Dory, set the record for the highest-grossing animated film debut at the domestic box office and surpassed the billion-dollar global box office mark.
Both on and off screen, DeGeneres’ humanitarian efforts take center stage. Earlier this year, DeGeneres established The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund, which supports global conservation efforts for critically endangered species. The first initiative of the fund is to build The Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. The campus will permanently secure the future of wild gorillas in Rwanda by building on successful field conservation efforts, while empowering the people living near the gorillas to thrive in relationship to their own ecosystem. This project gives DeGeneres the opportunity to carry on the legacy of her hero, visionary scientist Dian Fossey, joining her as a protector and champion of the critically endangered mountain gorilla. DeGeneres has also brought awareness to the anti-bullying issue by creating a PSA titled, “Be Kind.” Overall, The Ellen DeGeneres Show has raised over $50 million for various causes.
