Multiple Grammy Award winner Elton John will be performing for the first time at the Emmys this year.
John will play tribute to pianist Liberace, subject of the HBO biopic Behind the Candelabra. The film is up for 15 Emmy nominations including outstanding miniseries or movie.
Michael Douglas and Matt Damon will accompany John’s performance as the presenters. Both are nominated for their roles in the film.
“We have a great performance by Sir Elton John,” host Neil Patrick Harris said. “He’s a friend and also super-talented.”
The Emmys premier September 22, 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
