Tenants DeLille Cellars, Sparkman Cellars and Teatro ZinZanni bring new life, and a new name, to iconic brewery site in Woodinville
The new tenants of the former Redhook site have announced a new name for the campus, Hollywood Station. Hollywood Station is an ode to the historical prominence of the railway line that ran along the site, now the Sammamish Valley Trail, as well as the site’s location in the Hollywood District of Woodinville. The Hollywood name was coined by Fred Stimson, the lumber baron and Woodinville pioneer who settled in the area in the early 1900s.
The brewery site was purchased in late 2017 by RH Investment Holdings, and managers David Yuchasz and Brian Winn had the vision to incorporate a few key partnerships into the massive space, creating a new hub for wine and entertainment in the growing Woodinville tourism scene.
“We had envisioned, from the beginning, to repurpose this storied site into something walkable that the surrounding community and beyond would embrace and want to come be a part of. We couldn’t be happier with the quality of businesses that signed on to be a part of our dream,” commented Yuchasz and Winn.
Teatro ZinZanni was the first to enter into an agreement, giving the company a new home after almost two decades on Queen Anne in Seattle. ZinZanni is leasing the original brewery pub plus event and office space, and has constructed their historic spiegeltent on the lawn. DeLille’s space includes the brewery tank room which has been converted into the winery’s production area, plus office space and a three-story tasting room and event tower currently under construction. Sparkman’s lease includes tasting room, winemaking and event space in the brewery’s former bottling and storage facility. Both wineries are honored to consolidate and enhance their operations and customer experiences in their hometown of Woodinville. Other tenants in a secondary building include Zipfizz and Chateau Ste. Michelle.
DeLille Cellars moved all of its winery operations into the former brewery tank room in January, and is currently constructing their new three-story retail tower and tasting room, with the goal of opening in time for their annual “Drink D2 Day” celebration on December 2nd. DeLille’s new tasting room is being built on top of the steel framework that originally held Redhook’s outdoor storage tanks in place, weaving the brewery’s history into the design, which includes private tasting rooms and event space, a library room and a third-story rooftop deck for wine club members and their guests. The interior design and elevated tasting experiences will incorporate elements that capture DeLille’s history of Bordeaux inspiration and its passion for continuous discovery in the vineyards and the cellar.
Sparkman Cellars will be opening their new winery location at the former Redhook brewery property in late Fall 2019. Its winemaking operations, tasting room and event spaces will be located in the former brewery’s bottling hall. Sparkman Cellars’ new winery, currently under construction, will include an intimate tasting room featuring multiple wine flights, a wine club room adjacent to the barrel room, a wraparound outdoor patio with fire pits, a grand event hall with a vaulted ceiling, multiple private event spaces and an expanded production facility. Sparkman Cellars will continue operation of its other tasting room in Woodinville in the Hollywood Vineyards retail center.
As Teatro ZinZanni celebrates 20 years of presenting cirque, comedy and cabaret in the Pacific Northwest, the relocation to Woodinville has represented an exciting and busy chapter in the company’s history. The company has been producing new shows at their world headquarters location since November 2018 with their third production opening this fall before a planned hiatus in 2020 to finish the permanent build of the structure of a new venue at the current location.
In addition, the company opened a second location within the heart of Chicago’s Theatre District in July, and also in the final stages of approval in the city of San Francisco for a third tent to return to the Embarcadero. Beyond the tent, the company has been hard at work building out the remainder of its world headquarters location where the organization not only houses its administrative offices, costume and prop shops, but will also operate a new restaurant, a flexible event space and a premiere training facility. The training facility will be utilized by its world-class artists and also serve as an education center for youth camps and public classes focused on cirque arts. More details about the restaurant opening, campus development, tent permanent structure, and the grand re-opening will be announced later this year.
