Insider Hot Spots:

To give travelers the most authentic experience possible, Trafalgar’s French Travel Director, Jonathan Holburn, shares his favorite hot spots around his home of Paris:

Chartier, 7 rue du Faubourg Montmartre

“Founded in 1896 with a simple concept: provide a decent meal for a reasonable price with good service. With main dishes at around 10 euros, it’s hard to find argument with that concept. It is a true Parisian institution, but you can’t make a reservation – you just have to get in line with the rest of us!”

Café L’Epicerie, 30 Rue Montorgueil

“If you want to see real Parisians in action, this pedestrianized street and outdoor market is a hive of activity. It’s lined with fruit and vegetable markets, fish merchants, bakers, flower stalls and fabulous cafés like the Café L’Epicerie, which is a great spot to linger for lunch.”

Angelina’s, 226 rue de Rivoli

“One of the most stunning interiors of any establishment in Paris, Angelina’s is always packed with a mix of Parisian shoppers, European and non-European visitors and, of course, the beautiful people to match the beautiful decor. Don’t miss their ‘Mont Blanc’ signature patisserie – a combination of meringue, light cream and chestnut cream. The Austrian patissier seems to know how to get people coming back for more – they sell up to 600 of them a day!”
