After being sentenced to death by an Islamic court for homosexuality, a 15-year-old was thrown off a roof by ISIS militants in Syria.
“The boy was accused of being engaged in a homosexual relation with the prominent ISIS officer Abu Zaid al-Jazrawi,” media activist Sarai al-Din told ARA News.
Another activist said the “horrific execution took place in front of a large crowd.”
Abu Zaid was forced to leave Syria and join troops in northwestern Iraq.
The Sharia Court in Deir ez-Zor demanded that Abu Zaid be executed as well, as being homosexual is an offense punishable by death according to ISIS’s radical interpretation of Sharia law, but ISIS’s top commanders insisted he be moved to different battle fronts instead.
Recently, ISIS has killed dozens of allegedly gay men in Syria and Iraq.
“Daesh accuses people of being gay only on basis of some superficial information without any investigation,” civil rights activist Raed Ahmed said. “Although the Islamic law bans homosexuality, but the brutal punishment by Dash has never been witnessed throughout history.”
