The 9th Annual Johnny Ramone Tribute drew its largest crowd in the history of the event Sunday night, packing the Hollywood Forever Cemetery lawn for an incredible evening celebrating the life of Johnny Ramone.

Host John Waters, who was on hand to screen a director’s cut of his 1990 cult classic Cry-Baby, joined co-stars Traci Lords and Joe Dallesandro for a wildly popular autograph signing before taking the stage with Ricki Lake, James Intveld, and surprise guest Johnny Depp for a Q&A moderated by Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols.

“This event is something Johnny would have loved.  He was such a collector – autographs, movie posters, baseball cards, you name it. Having these amazing autograph signings and screening cult films – this is what Johnny was all about.  His legacy was important to him, and it’s the most important thing to me to do this event in the honor of my husband,” said Linda Ramone.

Fans were treated to an early introduction to the evening from Linda Ramone herself, later followed by a special Cry-Baby cast introduction by longtime friend Dita Von Teese. Prior to the film screening, John Waters gave an insightful introduction to the film, and thrilled the packed house of fans with his unique charm and humor.

The event drew many more notable friends of Johnny and Linda Ramone including Shepard Fairey, Michael Des Barres, J.D. King, Pete Yorn, George Kotsiopoulos, Joel Madden, Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats), Billy Zoom of X, Keegan Allen, Susan McKagan, Liz Goldwyn, Tennesse Thomas, and Justin Chambers. Fans and guests were treated to an impressive selection of music throughout the night from DJ Howie Pyro.

The Johnny Ramone Tribute is produced by Linda Ramone and The Johnny Ramone Army.
