The rush to the alter has been staggering in Washington State. King County set a one-day record on December 6 for the number of marriage licenses issued. In fact, they broke the record in just three hours between midnight and 3am. By 5pm, 481 marriage licenses were issued in King County.
On Wednesday, December 12 join State Senate Majority Leader Ed Murray, State Representative Jamie Pedersen, State Representative Laurie Jinkins, Washington United for Marriage Chair and HRC Board Member Lacey All, David Haack of SAGE, Marsha Botzer, Founder of Ingersoll, Debbie Carlsen, Director of Allyship, Louise Chernin President and Executive Director of Greater Seattle Business Association, and City of Seattle Council President Sally Clark for Equal Rights Washington’s Toasting Equality event.
Special guests include Governor Gregoire and Governor-elect Jay Inslee.
The event will be held Wednesday, December 12 at the Westin Seattle (1900 Fifth Ave, Seattle, WA 98101). Tickets are available online until December 10 and then at the door for the last two days.
