It was confirmed October 12 that Katy Perry will be the Super Bowl half-time performance.
Last week, it was rumored that she, Coldplay or Rhianna were in the running.
Katy Perry helped stir the rumor that she will perform the Super Bowl half-time show this year by tweeting, “Ahh, Sunday…Northing but sitting on the couch, watching my new favorite sport…[football emoji].”
Perry also appeared on ESPN’s “College GameDay” last weekend, getting involved in football, and telling Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight to call her.
“I’m picking this one based on looks,” Perry said, giving her pre game predictions. “Trevor Knight, do you hear me?”
Spectators also noted the halftime show is sponsored by Pepsi, and though the company has no contract with Perry, they have worked with her to promote her film, Part of Me. Billboard has also pointed out that Perry “has a big gap in her tour dates around the Super Bowl.”
Well, they were right.
Super Bowl XLIX will be played February 1 in Glendale, Arizona.
