Scottish singer/songwriter KT Tunstall will be performing a show in Seattle on November 2, 2010 at the Showbox SODO. If you don’t already love her for her music and gutsy lyrics, you will after you read what she recently told the San Francisco Bay Times.
In an interview with reporter Paul E. Pratt, Tunstall said, “There were a couple of times when I had some confidence crashes, where I really didn’t feel like I was going to be able to make an album which excited me as much as I needed it to.” She continued, “It was Linda [Perry] who said, ‘You’ve got the songs, you’ve got the talent, you’ve got the personality. The problem is, you give a fuck about what everybody else thinks!’”
Perry, the lesbian singer/songwriter powerhouse responsible for cracking open the hard shells of Pink and Christina Aguilera was just the person Tunstall needed to get back on track. Tunstall shared, “It was such good advice. I think it was a big catalyst in changing my attitude toward how I make music.”
In addition to the Seattle show on November 2, Tunstall will be playing Portland’s McMenamins Crystal Ballroom on October 30, 2010. Get your tickets here.
