Chobani recently released an ad featuring a woman sensually eating the yogurt in bed, then sensually stroking her foot of the person in bed with her, who is a woman.
According to the group, Chobani should be “ashamed of their latest commercial.”
“The newest commercial for Chobani yogurt has two nude women in bed while one lovingly strokes the other’s foot,” their website said. “This commercial not only promotes same-sex relationships by including two lesbians, but also same-sex marriage because the two women wear matching wedding bands. The ad states, ‘To Love this Life is to Live it Naturally.’ There is nothing natural about homosexuality. What does selling yogurt have to do with gay sex? Nothing at all, but Chobani wants to make the association.”
One Million Moms is asking their followers to contact Chobani and urge “them to pull this inappropriate commercial immediately and remain neutral in the war. Also, let Chobani know that continuing to air this ad an offensive advertisements in the future will force your family to make the decision to no longer purchase Chobani products.”
Chobani, however, won’t be backing down.
“As part of our founding mission to make better food for more people, inclusiveness and equality are at the heart of Chobani,” a spokesperson for the company said. “We launched our ‘Love This Life’ campaign back in May to celebrate and acknowledge all walks of life with modern American stories that reflect our fans and consumers. We’re proud that our products are enjoyed by all and we celebrate that diversity whenever – and however – we can.”
The group has also launched campaigns against Honey Maid, Oreo, JCPenney, Macy’s, Girl Scouts, NBC, ABC, Marvel, DC comics, and Walt Disney World.
