GSWS-Columbus announced this week that Grammy-nominated and Dove award winner country music star, Ty Herndon, will headline the Opening Ceremonies for the 2015 Gay Softball World Series (GSWS), which will take place in Columbus, Ohio from August 14-22.
“We chose All In as our tagline, because we wanted to bring members of our community together,” said GSWS-Columbus Executive Director Dallas Aldridge. “Ty’s been doing a lot of great work in this area, and we know our community will be excited he’s joining us.”
Herndon recently headlined the historic Concert for Love and Acceptance in Nashville, Tennessee, joining other celebrity artists such as Bill Gillman, Crystal Gayle, Chris Carmack (TV Series Nashville) and Tiffany to support LGBT acceptance.
“Ty’s fan base cuts across many segments of our community,” stated GSWS-Columbus Marketing Director, Micheal Carroll. “We hope members of our community will come out and join us at the Opening Ceremonies and at Berliner Sports Complex throughout the week for the games.”
The Opening Ceremonies, which will take place at Columbus Commons from 4:30-10 p.m. on Monday, August 17, will be open to community members and non-players. The suggested donation of $5 can be made at the gate, or advance purchases online.
To participate in the private VIP Meet and Greet with Ty, you must be a Gold or Platinum member of the GSWS Home Run Club. To join the club and support the 2015 GSWS, you can make your donation.
