DeGeneres, 55, and de Rossi, 40, have been anything but shy on their stance about kids (or rather, lack thereof), but it seems like any slight hope the public held out is once and for all squashed.
In the May issue of Out magazine, de Rossi admitted to feeling the pressure of having kids with her wife of five years, but ultimately realized she and DeGeneres just weren’t cut out for little ones.
“You have to really want to have kids, and neither of us did,” de Rossi said. “So it’s just going to be me and Ellen and no babies.”
DeGeneres is on the same page.
“I don’t want to have one. I don’t want to have six. I don’t want to have any,” DeGeneres told Leno in September. “They’re precious to look at and I love them; we have nieces and I love them very much. [But I] don’t want ’em.”
So it looks like there really will be no mini Ellens or Portias running around. De Rossi and DeGeneres are just going to focus on their relationship.
“We’ve settled into happily married life,” de Rossi said. “We really support each other in whatever we’re doing and we’re incredibly happy, which is why you don’t see us in the press so much. There’s no drama to report.”
