The fifth annual Seattle Pride Picnic, on June 14, aims to bring together family and friends for a day of entertainment, food and activities in Seattle’s iconic Volunteer Park in Capitol Hill.
The Seattle Pride Picnic, sponsored by T-Mobile and BECU, starts at11:00am Saturday, June 14. A $1 donation is requested for the picnic meal. All donations benefit YouthCare, which aids homeless youth in Seattle and the Northwest.
The 2014 Pride Picnic will be hosted by Aleksa Manila. Manila holds the titles of Miss Gay Filipino, La Femme Magnifique Puget Sound, Miss Gay Seattle and Empress of Seattle. Manila, a drag queen who takes pride in her roles as both an entertainer and an activist, has been awarded numerous titles in recognition of her work, including the 2013 Dr. Bob Award for Excellence in HIV Prevention, Public Health – Seattle & King County. She has been a Seattle Pride Parade announcer and emcee for more than 10 years.
