Queer as Folk’s Randy Harrison will lead the national tour of the musical Cabaret next year as the Emcee with Broadway alum Andrea Goss as Sally Bowles.
The musical is based on the stories of Christopher Isherwood and John Van Druten’s drama I am a Camera. Set in 1931 Berlin, Sally Bowles is a singer at the seedy Kit Kat Klub who falls in love with Cliff (Lee Aaron Rosen), an American author. Sally’s jealous boyfriend, who is also the club owner, kicks her out just as the Nazi’s start to take control of Germany.
Cabaret will also feature Shannon Cochran, Alison Ewing, Mark Nelson, and Ned Noyes with a score by John Kander and Fred Ebb.
Harrison formerly starred in the Off-Broadway play A Letter from Ethel Kennedy in 2002 (he had a bit part as a waiter in the Manhattan production). Following his time under the stage lights, he went on to star in 2010’s Julius Caesar, 2012’s Gayby, 2014’s Such Good People, and the 2015 television episodic Mr. Robot. He currently has two shorts in post-production – Sam & Julia and Photo Op.
The national tour of Cabaret will start on January 26 in Rhode Island.
