Queer as Folk actress Michelle Clunie and her best friend, bisexual X-Men director Bryan Singer, have announced on Twitter that they are now parents.
“Michelle Clunie and I would like to welcome our beautiful son Dashiell Julius William Clunie-Singer into the world,” Singer tweeted, along with a photo of the family.
Clunie was Singer’s first girlfriend. Though the pair are not together romantically, they have been best friends for 25 years.
“We dated. We broke up. He came out to me,” Clunie said in October. “We still loved each other and so made a pact we would start a family together some day. We are now 7 1/2 months pregnant and very excited about co-parenting and starting our little 21st, progressive, American family.”
They may not be together, but the pair want to make it clear they are both parents.
“Thanks 4 good wishes 4 our baby,” Singer tweeted after the pregnancy was confirmed. “FTR my bf Michelle Clunie is the mother, not a surrogate. I’m the father.”
The Seattle Lesbian wishes the Singer-Clunie family all the best in health and happiness.
