The 2014-2015 Season celebrates the wide range and strength of Seattle Men’s Chorus (SMC) and Seattle Women’s Chorus (SWC) with five engaging concerts. This Fall SWC continues their successful Hallows in the Cathedral concert for a third year in a row with Moonshadow. Right after Thanksgiving, SMC gets all dressed up to present classic carols and new twists on holiday favorites with Seattle’s Other Holiday Tradition, …Our Gay Apparel.
The first concert of 2015 is Reel Women in February. SWC returns to the Cornish Playhouse at Seattle Center and highlights the many great women of film and their music. In late March SMC pays tribute to fallen Rutgers University student Tyler Clementi and LGBT hero Harvey Milk with LEGACY. LEGACY is presented in two parts. The first part, Tyler’s Suite, is directed by Dr. Timothy Seelig, and produced in collaboration with the Tyler Clementi Foundation. Tyler’s Suite was originally commissioned by the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus. The second part features I Am Harvey Milk. The season wraps in June on an operatic rock-and-roll high note when SMC delves into the magic of one of the greatest Rock bands of all time –Queen.
