In an effort to raise funds for domestic violence survivors, Seattle rapper Draze has teamed up with Cupcake Royale to create the original “Seattle Sweeties” cupcake series. There are six new flavors, each representing the diversity of beauty, style and culture of the women in the Pacific Northwest. Among the delicious new flavors are: Choco-latte, Vanilla Dream, Chai Cinnamon, Caramel Delight, Lemon Cherry Blossom, and Banana Cream.
“When creating the Seattle’s Sweeties Series we were inspired by the names that Draze shared with us. We created each cupcake to be beautiful, classy, interesting, sweet, balanced, approachable, innovative, a bit sassy, colorful, and independent,” said Nicki Kerbs, CEO at Cupcake Royale.
The “Seattle Sweeties” cupcakes will be available at each Cupcake Royale location now through November 22, 2015. A portion of the proceeds from each cupcake sold will go to benefit “Runway to Freedom,” an organization working to help survivors of domestic violence.
“Runway to Freedom is committed to empowering survivors of domestic violence by funding local organizations that provide individuals and families with the education and resources needed to get out of dangerous situations and start living healthy lives,” said Lauren Grinnell, founder of Runway to Freedom.
The inspiration behind this collaboration is Draze’s new song “Seattle Sweeties.” Draze explained, “Being a home grown artist, I can appreciate the uniqueness of the women of this region. They’re energy is not like women from New York or LA. I can only describe it as, ‘very Seattle.’ With this track I tried to capture a piece of their mystic.”
Draze’s new single is available online as a free download on soundcloud. The Seattle Sweeties music video is coming soon.
