The Seattle Storm has announced that forward Crystal Langhorne has re-signed with the franchise.

“We are thrilled to have Crystal back in a Storm uniform,” said Storm President & GM Alisha Valavanis. “Her veteran status and on-court consistency makes her an invaluable member of this team.”

Langhorne enters her ninth season in the WNBA, third with the Storm in 2016. She owns career averages of 12.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and a 55.9 percent field goal percentage from the floor.

“Crystal is one of the most proficient and efficient players in the game,” said Storm head coach Jenny Boucek. “She is a dynamic playmaker with a crafty and versatile skill-set. Her experience, intelligence and aptitude for high-level schemes make her a valuable leader in the post.”

The 2009 WNBA Most Improved Player of the Year, Langhorne was traded to Seattle on April 14, 2014, during the 2014 WNBA Draft, in exchange for Seattle’s Tianna Hawkins and Bria Hartley. In her first season in the Western Conference, Langhorne scored in double-digits in 21 of 34 contests, recorded three double-doubles and led the team in scoring with 12.9 points per game.

Langhorne is a two-time WNBA All-Star, playing her first six seasons in the WNBA with the Washington Mystics. Her 2013 campaign saw her average a career-high 18.2 points per game. She led the league in double-doubles in 2010, posting 15 over the course of the regular season.

Langhorne was selected sixth overall in the 2008 WNBA Draft by the Mystics. A graduate of the University of Maryland, Langhorne is the Terrapins women’s basketball all-time leading scorer and rebounder. She is also the only Maryland player, male or female, to record 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in her career.
