Seattle Storm Falls to LA Sparks 65-64

The Storm fell to the Los Angeles Sparks, 65-64, Saturday night at KeyArena.

The Storm led for most of the second half but couldn’t hang on to beat Los Angeles. Alana Beard hit a jumper with 10.2 seconds remaining in the game to give the Sparks its first lead in the fourth quarter. The Storm had two attempts at the game winner, including a final chance with .6 seconds, but wasn’t able to secure the win.

Camille Little led the way for the Storm with 22 points, going 6-8 from the field and 10-11 from the free-throw line. Shekinna Stricklen added 13 points and Temeka Johnson chipped in 11, scoring in double figures for the first time since July 2.

Nneka Ogwumike equaled her season high with 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds. She also had two critical blocks at the end of the game to seal the win for the Sparks. Lindsey Harding was the next highest scorer for L.A., adding 10 points, and dished out eight assists.

The Storm finishes the first half of the season with a road game at Los Angeles on Thursday, July 25, at 12:30 p.m.
