Suze Orman and CNBC Deliver Special Pride Episode

The Suze Orman Show and CNBC have revealed that Saturday night’s episode of the program will revolve around marriage equality and pride week.

In the episode, financial guru (and out-lesbian) Suze Orman will dedicate an episode of The Suze Orman Show to marriage equality and the economic impacts that marriage equality has on LGBT couples nationwide. The show is one of the highest rated on CNBC and the episode will cover estate taxes, health insurance, pensions, and social security.

In her personal appeal to the audience, she recalls that she and her partner of 12 years are not afforded the same legal protections and rights as straight couples.  She passionately states, “So I am asking all of you to join in on this fight so to speak that we have, marriage equality, the ability to get married, should be a right for every single person in America regardless of sexual orientation.”

In 2009, Suze Orman received the Vito Russo Award at the 20th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York. The award is named in memory of Vito Russo, a founding member of GLAAD, and presented to an openly LGBT media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting equality for the LGBT community each year.

The episode will air on Saturday night at 9pm ET on CNBC.  A special preview to the weekend episode can be seen online.
