‘Schitt’s Creek’ broke the 2020 Emmys in a truly shitty year for everyone on record

If there’s one thing Hollywood knows it’s that the show must go on – and for the 2020 Emmys, the show did just that – a la virtual. Producers dispatched 130 cameras into the field to 20 cities and 10 countries to capture the nominees’ reactions.

Schitt’s Creek swept the Emmys by winning every major award in the comedy category, setting a new record!

Regina King won her fourth Emmy for Watchmen!

Actress Uzo Aduba won for her part in Mrs. America. She called on her mom for a little added support.

Jennifer Aniston literally put a fire out live on stage in reference to 2020.

And then there was this part where her Friends came into the literal picture.

Kerry Washington tweeted “Little Flowers Everywhere”:

Sterling K. Brown had everyone laughing with this tweet:

The In Memoriam segment left not a dry eye in the house. Honored were Naya Rivera, Chadwick Boseman, Diana Riggs, and others who perished this past year. H.E.R. sang Prince’s incomparable “Nothing Compares 2 U.”

Other winners included Mark Ruffalo, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II,  Tyler Perry, Zendaya, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Unorthodox, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and more!

Zendaya accepted her award saying, “This feels like a really weird time to be celebrating. There’s hope in the young people out there.”

With Zendaya’s win, she became the youngest drama actress winner for her role in Euphoria at the age of 24.
