WICKED Hits the Emerald City and We Have Been Changed ‘For Good’

It’s the most “Popular” time of the year in Seattle with the return of the ultra successful stage production of WICKED at The Paramount Theatre (911 Pine Street Seattle, WA 98101). The Emerald City welcomes witches past, present, and future for the Grammy and Tony Award-winning stage spectacular from Nov. 6, 2024, through Dec. 1, 2024.

Lip-smacking tunes from WICKED include the hits “For Good” and “Defying Gravity,” originally sung by Broadway stars Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth as Elphaba and Glinda, respectfully. The touring cast knocks the vocals out of the park with Austen Danielle Bohmer as Glinda and Lauren-Samuels as Elphaba. The powerhouse chemistry onstage rival the original production with a value much closer to home.

The production’s duration is 2 hours and 45 minutes with one intermission. Beverages and snacks are available in the lobby for purchase and children under the age of five are prohibited.

WICKED looks at what happened in the Land of Oz…but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin, who is smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships…until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.”

WICKED is currently the fourth longest-running show in Broadway history following the production’s 20th anniversary on Oct. 30, 2023. The show has been performed globally to sold-out crowds in excess of 100 cities in 16 countries and to date has amassed in excess of $5.6 billion worldwide.

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, WICKED has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman. The production is directed by Tony Award winner Joe Mantello with musical staging by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento.
